Acer Palmatum Dissectum Atropurpureum(Garnet)
You could be mistaken to assume this is the sibling of the green dissectum. A mound forming maple best suited in a border or container showing off its finely cut purple leaves producing a feathery look. The Autumn brings the surprise with the traditional "American Fall" colour of oranges flowing through the tree. Prefers a sheltered partially shaded spot where it will reach up to 1.5M but can cope with full sun with its mound demanding a 2M spread. A typical Japanese garden maple but can be the focal point of any border drawing you in.Identified for there demanding place in Japanese show gardens.
