Astrantia Major Rubra

Hugely popular in a cottage garden across the country due to bundles of small white flowers, surrounded by rich crimson bracteoles where the crimson leaches into the flowers giving a pinkish tinge .Known as master-wort and Melancholy gentleman which are great as a cut flower from June to August capturing a true British summer essence and should be seen in all gardens be it a bed, border or container. Growing to 60cm they prefer dappled shade in rich soil
