Named for their bell like shape, Bell peppers are the best known sweet peppers. They have a sweet but mild flavour. Young peppers are a bright green with crisp, juicy flesh. A dwarf pepper which matures to a red colour. Sow the seeds in containers in a compost rich soil and then leave in a greenhouse for 8 weeks until late spring. Once planted outside cover to keep warm as they can be frost tender. Ideal in pots, containers, hanging baskets. Also works well with bedding plants.
